Those eyes
Hiding in plain sight
Watching you at your side
As you move
We are in tune
Watching you at your side
I miss you.
You live and work and walk
You move and breathe and talk
You smile and play and lock your eyes with mine
You come by
And stay at my side
You sacrifice
Your time
To intertwine
Yours with mine.
I love you.
You live you life apart from mine
Yet make room to love me.
Like I’m an important aspect
Of your reality.
So I lay my eyes on you
As you do what you want to
And I am happy
Watching you
In the time I have to spare
When I am done with my share
Of living life and working there
So I’ll sit and stare
At the person in front of me
Playing his video games
While I sit drawing
Looking every so often
At his victories
And his triumphant smile
Looking back at me
Those eyes I’ll catch
While I’m working
On my own things
As we call
When the day brings
Nightfall.
We share and make time
To be at each other’s side.
With those eyes
We see each other.
