Look Forward

Little things matter
To me.
I don’t care for much.
I watch things pass.
Letting them last
However long they want to.
I’ve looked through the past
Scoured through
All the memories
I’ve had to
Look more than twice at.
What once moved me
To my feet
Or too my knees
Has no longer that effect
On me.
Maybe it’s the work of time,
Or my consciousness moving on.
Regardless.
The things that haunted me,
Don’t, anymore.
I feel I’ve looked back too long.
Still walking those halls,
Past the cement
Feeling that torment.
I’ve over welcomed the pain.
Embracing the change
It had on me.
Other, hurtful things too
Have stayed
Silently pleading to people
With rage.
I remember that
On many occasions
There was a girl
That wished to be saved
But said nothing
And stayed.
How stupid of me.
But moving on.
I’ve seen
What these things
Do to me.
To look back
Is to come back
Bored. And bothered.
I’ve realized.
I don’t want to do that.
I am in another place
Another space
A different plane
Of existence.
A new chapter I suppose.
I’ve turned the page.
Stopped rereading the
Same few chapters
to understand why.
There’s nothing
To understand.
What happened.
Just is.
Nothing will change that.
So after so long.
I am ready to move on.
What happened has happened
What’s gone is gone
I am here now.
And nothing is wrong.
I am not lost.
I am not wrong.
I am not broken
Because of their songs.
I am me.
I am okay.
I am myself
I am strong.
I’ve moved on.
