Just Ride It Out

One problem after another.
They all climb over each other.
All mixing together becoming a monster
Of treachery and disheartened souls.
It’s draining to be around
But I can’t get away from the sound
Of anger and rage
Or the voice on the verge of tears
It tears at my heart
The sound of my family
Being in crisis
Scaring me actually.
Because usually it’s in my friends
And within myself
But rarely at home
It almost never shows.
My brother’s rage and despair
My father’s silence impaired
My mother’s tears are streaming
And my own mind is screaming
For it all to stop
For all the problems to pause
For I can’t breathe
And I need a minute to be
I need a second to breathe
These moments are easy
Sending me ill at ease
In a minute I shall proceed
To the rest of my life
Where I must be
Calm.
Okay.
Fine.
In Control.
Nothing out of place
Don’t be a waste of space
Contribute to the conversation
Don’t bring us down.
With your depressive duration.
You are okay
It’ll pass
Ride it out
It will amass
And plateau
Then little by little, slow
Eventually it’ll go.
And everything will calm
You will be okay.
Just ride it out.
