Imposter Syndrome.
It’s a tricky thing
You smile and laugh,
But inside you sting.
You hide away from those who see your outside
And sometimes yourself, in order to survive.
What is this feeling?
This feeling of dread
The life is good
You are not dead.
Sure, you’re falling apart
You throw up your pain
And call it art
It’s dark inside,
But outside you’re light,
You deserve this pain happiness
That comes your way
But why
Why is the dark still dark?
Sure there are stars
that shine bright,
But not enough to bring in light.
Into this home,
Into this soul,
Into this dark space,
That this body holds.
Full of pain,
And trauma,
Of loneliness
And drama.
It’s a heavy thing
To hold,
Such dark stories
That mold you
Into this person
Who fears the worst
Who looks around
And hurts first
Giving no one the chance
To see the truth.
