I've Spoken

I have spoken.
Not to a friend, nor to my lover.
I have spoken to him.
I have spoken, finally,
to the one who created such horrible memories.
How funny that we only remember the bad,
and sometimes not even that.
How funny that we have both forgotten different details.
Was he correct, or was I?
How funny that he is human.
How funny that he is a son, a brother, a friend, a boy.
And yet, it is hard to believe.
Black and White actions exist only in movies.
This I knew from the start.
In the end however, the actions were clear to both.
A blessing to my soul and heart
We have spoken now, and I am left drained
I act now as I have been trained.
At first it pained
At first I strained,
But strength I’ve gained
Myself I’ve contained.
I am strong now
As I once was.
I have faced the wrath
Of my thoughts astray,
And I have faced the male that cut and killed me.
I did not die.
I am still here.
I will not leave.
I shed no tear.
He has not won.
I made it clear.
