All villains laugh at their pain

The good guys always feel

But for the twisted minds

To cry is not to heal.

Tears are painful,

Hard, traumatic

To think about it is

Quite asthmatic

Leave emotion to the weak

My voice shall not tremble when I speak

You will see no tears and hear no cry

With anguish my voice will roar,

"I’d rather die!"

I lived through pain

So much so

That my only face

Is left unknown

Villains laugh in the face of fear

Before shedding a tear

When attacked they get mad

Won’t question your betrayal

Or the friendship they had

They’ll turn on you

As you did to them

They’ll turn on you

Like they didn’t know you back then

Trust will be broken

Never to be regained

They cannot forget

Their issues replay

Over and over

Inside their head

It’s a dark place

Dangerous to be read

I am not a hero.

My role is not a protagonist

I am not easily riled

My trust is not easy to manifest

Though I see the good in people

I see the bad too

I am realistic

Growing up I had to

People will take advantage of you

You must take care

Trust only yourself

No one else can compare

And I’ve tried to be good

Believe me I would

But after so long

I’ve understood

People are mean

They’re dangerous too

In my innocence

I had no clue

Sooner rather than later

That realization hit

I was but just a child

When it all went to shit

So close to growing up

I jumped over that bridge

And grew up too fast

My choice influenced.

I took a rosied look at the world

And walked a dangerous line

After that

My will was no longer mine

It took a long time

To recover from that

One small mistake

Ruined my past

World of no good

Those I looked to

Had no idea

I questioned them too

I tried to trust again

But every time I willed

I fell trapped

My attempt was killed

By loads of people

Mentally draining

Psychologically straining

Physically paining

And so I grew

Into the woman you see now

Tricky, clever, up to no good

At least that’s what they think

That’s all they could

When she smiled it was pretty

Her emotions not to pity

Unknowing of her past

Growing up so shifty

She’s a woman now

Still dealing

So when you see her laugh

She’s healing

You’ll see her teeth

But that doesn’t mean there’s no pain

Think of her as a villain

From crying she has nothing to gain

So she’ll smile and laugh

So wholeheartedly

You’d think she’s the hero

…but that’s not a part of me.
